Feel Something – Season 2023

For close to 70 years, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra has played a key role in shaping the cultural landscape of the Canterbury region, and beyond.
Having worked with the team at Brave in bringing to life many of CSO’s previous campaigns, Season 2023 presented a unique opportunity for us to showcase the music through exploring one’s emotional experience when listening to music. Working with real audience members, orchestra players and organisation team members, we captured a range of emotional responses both in the auditorium and backstage; shot in black and white, in order to strip away any distractions from their pure emotion. Personal anecdotes included throughout the brochure further highlighted their personal relationship with music.
Alongside their very full concert season, CSO are committed to community engagement through their In the Community Ki te Hapori programme. While this aspect of the CSO’s work had always been highlighted in brochures for previous seasons, this year they wanted to place more emphasis by giving the programme it’s own visual identity and more real estate within the brochure and on their website. We created an identity that was bold, colourful and playful; incorporating loose-style illustrations and handwritten type to reflect the community focus.
The Season 2023 campaign created a window in to people’s experiences with music, encouraging audiences to come along to a concert and Feel Something.
